Electricity Billing
Log meter readings for AC rooms, split the bill among the room's tenants, and bill accurately - with photo evidence.
AC rooms only
Electricity billing works on rooms marked as having AC. Mark a room as AC in its room settings to start logging readings for it.
Meter Readings
Go to Electricity and select the property and month. For each AC room, enter:
The number of readings you can log each month depends on your plan, and meter photos count toward your file storage.
Rate Configuration
The default electricity rate (₹/unit) is set per property in Settings → Property → Elec Rate. Each reading is billed as:
Units consumed = current_reading − previous_reading
Room bill = units_consumed × rate_per_unit
Each tenant's share = room bill ÷ active tenants in the room
Bills & Invoices
As soon as a reading is saved, the bill is split equally among the room's active tenants and added to each tenant's invoice for that month. If a tenant's rent invoice is already paid, the electricity charge goes on a separate electricity invoice instead. Track units consumed, total billed, and outstanding amounts on the Electricity page, and use Mark paid when a tenant settles their share.
Navigation
You can navigate up to 24 months back using the month selector. All historical readings are stored, and each room allows one reading per billing month. Deleting a reading also removes its bills and invoice lines.
